~~The Reunion~~

They called her the Spider Lady
For she was always dressed in black
And when she entered the Bestro Bar,
Her heals would go clickity clack.
She carried a red velvet bag,
And her legs were graced in lace,
With skin of alabaster,
She had a classic face.

They called him "Snakey Sam"
For the poison was in his doctor’s sack,
He claimed it cured most everything,
From nerves to an aching back!
But somehow his patients worsened,
And some of them even died.

This is the way he developed a following
Of old widows and crying brides--
"Snakey Sam" came to the Bestro Bar,
He sensed that "She" was there,
He walked straight up to her...
And touched her jet black hair.

A tango played, they danced and swayed,
As if in a deadly duel.
The red velvet bag and the poison sack...
Still on the bar room stool.

Now no one knows when they took their walk
And vanished into the night,
The townfolk whispered of foul play...
And wondered of their plight.

A few years passed...
And a rider came upon an old abandoned well,
And when he shined his light within...
He had this tale to tell.

There was "Snakey Sam" and the"Spider Lady"
Locked in a fond embrace,
Two skeletons in their deathly tomb...
One clad in black and lace.

Now this is where the tale takes a ghastly twist:
"Snakey" had a dried spider on his head,
And "She" had a snake around her wrist!

The fearful town buried them
Very deep and side by side,
With one large stone that simply said:
"Snakey Sam and his Spider Bride."

The Bestro Bar has long been closed,
Its darkness frames the moon,
And some folks say...
They’ve seen two skeletons dance...
To a ghostly Tango Tune.
